Setup

  1. 1A shooting zone marked 22-28 yards from goal in a 33 x 28 yards area.
  2. 2Add one extra defender to the working area and mark their start position with a flat cone.

Coaching points

  • -Ankle locked, laces through the ball
  • -Get the shot down and on target
  • -Only shoot when the lane is clear
  • -Protect the ball and wait for the second runner rather than forcing it

Common mistakes

  • -Shooting from impossible angles
  • -Ball bouncing before the strike
  • -Trying to beat two players instead of releasing early
