Free football coaching resources

Everything on this page is free to use, print and share with your volunteers. It is built for grassroots reality: mixed abilities, a shared pitch, a bag of cones and forty minutes.

What you can use today

Most volunteer coaches are given a squad, a training slot and very little else. These are the resources we would hand a new coach at a grassroots club in the UK on their first night, in the order they usually need them.

Printable session plan template

A blank two-page session plan sheet with warm-up, main practice, game and reflection boxes. Print one per coach and hand them out at your club's coach evening.

Questions from clubs

Are these football coaching resources really free?

Yes. The session plan template, over 40 sample drills, every age group and session length guide, and all coach development articles are free to use with no account. A paid Coach plan unlocks the full drill library and unlimited saved session plans, but nothing on this page is behind a paywall.

Can our club link to or share these resources?

Please do. Clubs, leagues, county FAs and schools are welcome to link to any page on Football Coach Hub from their own website, newsletter or coaches' WhatsApp group. There is copy-and-paste link text on our link to us page.

Can we print the session plans for a coaches' evening?

Yes. The blank session plan template is designed to be printed and handed out, and you can print as many copies as your club needs.

Do the drills suit volunteer coaches with limited kit?

Every drill lists the equipment it needs, and there are dedicated pages for drills with cones only, one ball, mini goals or no equipment at all.
