  3. 3. The receiving zone must take a controlled first touch forwards.

Setup

  1. 1A wide grid split into three vertical zones in a 38 x 28 yards area.
  2. 2Set a visible timer or have an assistant count aloud from the side of the area.
  3. 3Balls in each wide zone, two sets of bibs.

Coaching instructions

Coaching points

  • -Head up to spot the far-side space early
  • -Switch with a driven pass, not a loop
  • -Far-side player stays wide and high
  • -Pass with pace and intent — under-hit passes cost the clock

Common mistakes

  • -Switching straight into pressure
  • -Far side drifting inside too early
  • -Slow, sideways passing that burns the clock
