Objectives
- -Dribble at speed under control
- -Change direction with close touches
- -Add competition to warm the group up
Setup
- 1Two identical slalom lines of six cones.
- 2Teams split behind each line with a ball each.
- 3Finish line marked five yards beyond the last cone.
Coaching instructions
- 1First player of each team races through the slalom and back.
- 2Tag the next player who goes when the ball arrives.
- 3First team to complete all players wins the round.
Coaching points
- -Touch every one or two steps between cones
- -Use inside and outside of the same foot
- -Accelerate out of the last cone
- -Head up to see the finish, not the ball
Common mistakes
- -Kicking the ball ahead and chasing it
- -Cutting cones out to go faster
- -Only using one foot
