Setup

  1. 1Two 8 yard receiving zones on opposite flanks.
  2. 2Central players linking the two zones.
  3. 3Ball supply in each wide zone.

Coaching instructions

Coaching points

  • -Scan the far side before receiving
  • -Open up with the first touch to strike across the body
  • -Strike through the bottom half for height and distance
  • -Receiver takes the first touch across the body into space

Common mistakes

  • -Switching to a marked player
  • -Slicing the diagonal with the wrong part of the foot
  • -Letting the ball bounce twice before controlling
