  • -Reward organised, connected play

Setup

  1. 1A pitch with a clearly marked halfway line in a 36 x 26 yards area.
  2. 2Place a marker at every receiving position so players know where to set the ball before it arrives.
  3. 3Balls with the coach, two sets of bibs.

Coaching instructions

  1. 1Goals only count when every attacking player has crossed halfway.
  2. 2Defending teams must have everyone behind the ball to earn a clean-sheet point.
  3. 3Play four-minute games with short breaks.
  4. 4Ball enters from the coach and the first receiver is on two touches from that moment.
  5. 5Count completed sequences under the touch limit — best of three 3-minute rounds.

Coaching points

  • -Recover together when it is lost
  • -Stay compact between the lines
  • -First touch out of the feet and into the direction of the next pass

Common mistakes

  • -Defenders staying deep when the team attacks
  • -Taking a settling touch that kills the tempo
