Objectives
- -Create crossing chances with an overlap
- -Deliver quality balls from wide areas
- -Coach the timing of the run outside
Setup
- 1A wide channel with an overlapping start cone behind it in a 40 x 30 yards area.
- 2Number every station so players know exactly where they travel to next.
- 3Balls at the winger's cone, keeper in goal.
Coaching instructions
- 1Winger receives, drives inside and sets for the overlapping runner.
- 2The overlapping player delivers first time or after one touch.
- 3Two attackers arrive at near post and penalty spot.
- 4Play starts at station one and the ball works round the numbers in order.
- 5Every player must complete each role once before the round is scored.

- -Set the ball into the runner's path
- -Cross past the first defender
- -Runners attack, don't stand
- -Follow your pass — the movement is part of the practice
