Objectives

  • -Adjust the set position as the shot is screened
  • -Deal with rebounds and second phases

Setup

  1. 1Full goal, keeper on the line.
  2. 2Two poles or mannequins on the edge of the box to screen the shot.
  3. 3Shooters on the D with a ball each.

Coaching instructions

Coaching points

  • -Set slightly deeper when the sight line is blocked
  • -Move sideways to find a gap through the traffic
  • -Save then get straight back to a strong set position
  • -Push saves wide of the goal, never back into the middle

Common mistakes

  • -Standing behind the screen with no view
  • -Staying down after the first save
  • -Parrying the ball back into the danger zone
