Objectives

Setup

  1. 1Wide channels marked either side of the box.
  2. 2Goal and keeper, balls with the wide players.
  3. 3Three attackers start centrally.

Coaching instructions

  1. 1Winger dribbles the channel and crosses on the second or third touch.

Coaching points

  • -Cross before the defender can set
  • -Whip the ball away from the keeper
  • -Runners attack the ball, don't wait for it
  • -Back post runner stays wide until the last moment

Common mistakes

  • -Overhitting into the keeper's hands
  • -Attackers arriving in a straight line
  • -Too many touches before crossing
